I'm glad that you want to know more about me and I'm going try to keep this one short!

My name is Darius E. Scheider and I am a French-Creole guitarist. I moved to New York City in 2010, where I was playing an average of 200 shows and teaching a few hundred classes a year, until I moved to Los Angeles in 2016. Since then, I have been focusing more on production and education.

​

My passion for music really took off as a kid when I got to meet and play with the American blues legend, Luther Allison, in 1996. Since that day, I knew that music would always be a part of my life.

​

Besides my true passion for the guitar, I have always been curious and wanting to understand music and life on a deeper level. For that reason and as well as being truly passionate about education since a very young age, I studied philosophy in university before studying music academically at the conservatory of music.

​

In my journey, I have been lucky enough to have a few outstanding and inspiring teachers, both in the philosophy and the music fields. These incredible teachers are some of the people who truly inspired me as a musician, instructor, and person.

​

I like to think that most of what I know about music comes from asking myself the right questions, being organized and focused in my practice, hanging out, learning and playing with some of the best musicians in the world, and last but not least, from teaching the many students over the years, who have always challenged my ability to make learning music a seamless process. 

 

I also like to think that anyone with the right guidance can achieve his or her greatest potential.

 

I love teaching the guitar and music to kids and adults, regardless of the skill level. I guess this is due to the fact that when we truly love something, we want to share it with the entire world, or maybe that's just how I feel!
